1. Who We Are
SYNC is a personal and shared-life organization service designed for Solo, Couple, and Family use. The service may process information that users choose to place in their personal spaces or share with connected people.

2. Philippine Privacy Law
SYNC is intended to comply with applicable Philippine data protection requirements, including Republic Act No. 10173 (Data Privacy Act of 2012), its Implementing Rules and Regulations, and applicable issuances of the National Privacy Commission (NPC).
Where applicable, SYNC follows the principles of transparency, legitimate purpose, and proportionality. Personal information is processed only for declared and legitimate purposes, using information that is relevant and reasonably necessary for those purposes.
3. Information We May Collect
The information processed by SYNC depends on how you use the service. This may include:

Some information you enter may reveal or contain personal or sensitive information. Please do not enter information into SYNC that you do not have the right or authority to provide. If a feature does not require a particular piece of information, you should avoid providing it.
4. How We Use Personal Information
Depending on the feature and context, SYNC may process information to:
- create and maintain user accounts;
- authenticate users and protect accounts;
- provide routines, plans, goals, moments, dates, savings, reminders, and related features;
- connect users and provide shared Couple or Family functionality when the user chooses to connect;
- send service-related reminders, notifications, and account communications;
- maintain, troubleshoot, secure, and improve the service;
- prevent abuse, fraud, unauthorized access, and security incidents;
- comply with applicable legal obligations and lawful requests; and
- perform other processing that is disclosed to you and permitted by applicable law.
5. Lawful Basis for Processing
Under the Data Privacy Act, personal information must be processed in accordance with a lawful basis. Depending on the processing activity, SYNC may rely on:
- Consent, where you have given valid and informed consent for a specified purpose;
- Contract or steps preparatory to a contract, where processing is necessary to provide the service you requested;
- Legal obligation, where processing is necessary to comply with a legal requirement;
- Legitimate interests, where permitted by law and where the interests or fundamental rights and freedoms of the data subject are appropriately considered; or
- another lawful basis recognized by the Data Privacy Act and its implementing rules.
Where consent is the applicable basis, you may withdraw consent subject to the limitations and consequences provided by law and the nature of the processing involved.
6. Solo, Couple, and Family Sharing
SYNC is built around different levels of personal and shared use.
Solo
Your information in Solo mode is intended to remain within your personal account and the service's authorized processing environment, except where disclosure is necessary to operate the service, comply with law, protect security, or is otherwise authorized by you.
Couple
When you intentionally connect a Couple account, information designated by the product as shared may become visible to the connected person. You should review what a feature shares before entering information you want to keep private.
Family
Family mode is an upcoming product capability. When Family functionality becomes available, SYNC will provide access controls designed to distinguish household or shared information from information intended to remain personal. The actual visibility and permissions will be described in the product before the feature is enabled for use.
Children and minors
Parents or lawful guardians have responsibilities regarding the privacy rights of minors under their care. SYNC will not treat the existence of a Family feature as automatic permission to collect unrestricted information about children. Where a future feature is specifically designed for minors, SYNC will provide appropriate notices, permissions, and safeguards required by applicable law.
7. Data Sharing and Service Providers
SYNC does not sell your personal information as part of its ordinary service operation.
We may disclose or make personal information available to service providers that process information on SYNC's behalf, such as hosting, database, authentication, security, infrastructure, analytics, email, or notification providers, when necessary to operate the service. Such providers are expected to process information only for authorized purposes and under appropriate contractual or technical safeguards.
We may also disclose information when required or permitted by law, to respond to lawful requests, protect the rights and safety of users or SYNC, investigate abuse or security incidents, or support a corporate transaction where legally permitted and subject to applicable safeguards.
8. International or Cross-Border Processing
Some service providers used by SYNC may process or store information outside the Philippines. Where cross-border processing occurs, SYNC will take reasonable measures required by applicable Philippine privacy law to protect personal information and maintain appropriate contractual, organizational, and technical safeguards.
9. Data Security
SYNC uses reasonable organizational, physical, and technical measures appropriate to the nature of the information and the risks involved. These may include access controls, authentication safeguards, secure transmission, database permissions, logging, monitoring, and other security measures appropriate to the service.
No internet-based service can guarantee absolute security. If a personal data breach occurs that is subject to notification requirements under applicable law, SYNC will follow the applicable breach-management and notification requirements of the National Privacy Commission.
10. Data Retention
SYNC retains personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the declared purpose, to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, maintain security, or otherwise as permitted by law.
Retention periods may differ by information type and feature. When information is no longer required, SYNC will take reasonable steps to delete, anonymize, or securely dispose of it, subject to lawful retention requirements and technical limitations such as backup cycles.
11. Your Rights as a Data Subject
Subject to the conditions and limitations provided by law, data subjects have rights under the Data Privacy Act, including:
Know how personal information is collected and processed.
Request access to personal information and relevant processing information.
Object to certain processing where the law permits.
Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information.
Request deletion or blocking in circumstances provided by law.
Request a copy in a structured and commonly used format where applicable.
Seek assistance or file a complaint with the National Privacy Commission.
Seek damages for unlawful processing or violation of privacy rights as provided by law.

12. Cookies and Similar Technologies
The SYNC marketing website may use essential cookies or similar technologies needed for website functionality, security, preferences, or measurement. The SYNC application may use storage technologies required to maintain sessions and provide application functionality.
If optional analytics, advertising, or similar technologies are introduced, the applicable notice and consent controls will be updated as required by law.
13. Automated Decision-Making and Profiling
SYNC is not designed to make decisions that significantly affect a user solely through automated processing. If a future feature introduces automated decision-making or profiling that is subject to additional NPC requirements, SYNC will provide the disclosures, controls, and notifications required by applicable law.
14. Privacy by Design and Data Minimization
SYNC is developed with the goal of collecting only information reasonably necessary for the features users choose to use. Privacy and security considerations are intended to be considered during product design, implementation, testing, and changes to data processing activities.
15. Third-Party Links
The SYNC website or application may contain links to third-party services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies. SYNC is not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party websites or services that it does not control.
16. Changes to This Privacy Policy
SYNC may update this Privacy Policy when its features, processing activities, service providers, or legal requirements change. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date and, where appropriate, providing additional notice through the service.
